Jessica Cooper B.Occ. Thy
Occupational Therapist

Welcome to our community

Welcome to our community at Occupational Therapy Brisbane, where every member of our team brings something special to the table. Meet Jessica Cooper, a vibrant addition to our family since February 2023, who comes with fresh perspectives and a heart full of passion for occupational therapy.

A Journey of Passion and Dedication

Jessica’s journey into the world of occupational therapy began at the University of Queensland, where she graduated in 2022. Her academic voyage was rich with experiences, working closely with a diverse clientele, understanding their unique stories, and tailoring her approach to meet their individual aspirations. Her educational foundation is not just built on theory but is also deeply rooted in the practical aspects of delivering compassionate and personalised care.

At the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Jessica honed her skills in geriatric rehabilitation, providing cognitive and physical assessments, and forming a key part of the process that enables clients to regain their independence and joy in daily activities. Her dedication to community assessment has been instrumental in aiding older adults to flourish within the comfort of their homes and communities.

Jessica’s professional interests lie in supporting the ageing population and individuals living with Stroke and Parkinson’s Disease. Her passion is evident in her commitment to empower her clients, helping them to rediscover their abilities and achieve their daily living goals through innovative rehabilitation, thoughtful environmental modifications, and the judicious use of assistive equipment

Inspired by her personal triumphs in rehabilitation, Jessica chose to become an Occupational Therapist to emulate the life-changing support she once received. Her philosophy resonates with our core values – focusing on client-centred care, fostering creativity in problem-solving, and adapting environments to fit the individual, rather than the other way around.

What-does-occupational-therapy-do

When she isn’t weaving her magic in the lives of her clients, Jessica enjoys the simple pleasures of life, whether it be quality time with family and friends, staying active with a workout at the gym, soaking up the sun at the beach, engaging in a battle of wits over board games, or unwinding with her favourite TV series.

Jessica’s commitment to enhancing the wellbeing of her clients is a testament to the ethos of Occupational Therapy Brisbane. Her warmth, expertise, and innovative spirit are already making a significant impact on the lives she touches.

We are thrilled to have Jessica as part of our team, bringing her unique blend of personal experience and professional dedication to Occupational Therapy Brisbane.
